Ways We Can Work Together...

Therapeutic Assessment

Therapeutic Assessment is a collaborative, short-term process that uses psychological testing as a tool for insight and healing, not just diagnosis. It’s designed to help you and your child better understand emotional or behavioral challenges, uncover the meaning behind them, and identify strengths. Together, we explore your questions and concerns and use the assessment process to support growth, clarity, and connection within your family.

Is 'therapeutic' psychological assessment the right path for me?

Therapeutic Assessment may be the right fit for your child and family when you're seeking more than just a diagnosis. You want a deeper understanding of your child’s struggles and guidance that supports healing, insight, and stronger relationships.

What to expect:

Therapeutic Assessment begins with a collaborative conversation to clarify your questions and concerns. From there, we use selected psychological tests, observations, and interviews to better understand your child’s experiences, strengths, and challenges.

This service is a hybrid of therapy and psychological assessment - at times in the process, we may pause to explore and understand testing findings, and to touch base about how the findings map onto your experiences. We then come together for a feedback session where I share insights and recommendations from the testing, and we explore how this fits.

We also discuss how you might use the new information to shift or change your approach to the challenges. If it feels helpful, I meet with you several weeks after we complete the process, pro-bono, to touch base about how things are going, support you in applying the recommendations, and adjust strategies, as needed, to help your child and family continue to grow and thrive.
